Vans: Greece to your feet
Partnerships between the footwear industry and art can lead to wonderful products, as we saw with Melissa + Zaha Hadid.
This time, the iconic Vans cede their space to Greek mythology, with illustrations by the artist Keren Richter.
Already in 2008, Richter made his first contribution to the Californian company, printing its famous spiral the skater look of the signature itself.
The partnership was so successful that Richter was reconvened to illustrate the new Vans.
The inspiration of this radiant collection found its source in Artemis, the goddess of hunting.
Vans never gave me guidelines for any of the models, “said Richter,” I create art that I like and they take care to pour it into the footwear.
In the new model can also be seen references to the album cover Starpower, New York-based group Sonic Youth, the Super Mario of the 80s and Victorian buildings in San Francisco.
The new collection comes in two colors, violet and pink, and also bring a matching purse.
Not bad to have a better view of the Parthenon for just USD 55.
