Nay to last week’s Fendi bag. It may have been by a designer we normally like, but it impressed no one with its blatant self-promotion, so off it goes to Handbag Hell, as we move onto our next victim.
There’s a lot going on with this week’s bag. The diamantes. The tassels. The rather bright colour. Do those tassels tickle your fancy, though, or is it all just overkill? Vote Yay or Nay, and tell us why.
Many people have qualms about wearing crocodile or snakeskin leathers, which I’ve never understood, as normal leather comes from cattle, which is surely a much more lovely breed of animal than the former two?
Nonetheless, if exotic animal skins are not your game but you do fancy the chic embossed effect, these faux-croc hobos made from leather might just be what you’re looking for. Available in chocolate, nutmeg, and red, they’re from Sigrid Olsen and have been discounted down to $79.99 from the original $168.
It really must be Spring just ’round the corner, with countless wicker and raffia accessories cropping up like the flowers through the cracks in the pavement. Stella McCartney has churned out several very Summery items, including this multicoloured raffia clutch in several earthy shades. As you can see, you also get a matching coin purse too, but that hardly justifies the £395 price in my eyes!

Quilting, check! Metallic, check! Familiar buckle…check! £370 for canvas and perspex? Why, it must be a Marc Jacobs creation! I really want to know who’d actually pay that much money for something made mostly out of plastic, and, let’s talk frankly here, readers - it’s pretty fugly, no? Bet if it didn’t have that signature ‘Marc Jacobs’ buckle on it, noone would look twice at it!

Now, I wouldn’t ordinarily tell you to look to the Hilton sisters for fashion advice, but the handbag Nicky was toting at the Vanity Fair Oscars party was definitely a showstopper.
Despite the fact she designs bags for a living, she chose to swap her own brand for Balenciaga, and carried the Le Dix bag in (what else) hot metallic pink to go with her sparkly gown.
The bags are fairly hard to come by, but if you’re willing to bid in an unfamiliar currency, eBay may be the answer! There are also copies available, if you’re cheap like me!
