Last week’s hideous affair was that floral hobo from Gucci, which has ’sadly’ all sold out at Neiman Marcus, probably a good thing too, seen as how reader Rosie claims it looks like ‘the kind of bag 60+ women have embroidered themselves, or bought second hand from the Salvation Army!’ This week however we have an interesting blue bag up for evaluation.

Clever readers may be able to tell which designer has created this, errr, ‘creation’, but the question is, do you like it? That is the question posed to our readers every Wednesday, in our Yay or Nay and Why? feature. Leave your thoughts in the comments box, and next week I will reveal the designer’s identity, and how much it will set you back.

Frame-style Bag

It was a resounding Yay! for last week’s bag, with only a few of you voicing reservations about those slightly “busy” looking pockets. It was by Betsey Johnston, and is $375 at Nordstrom.

This week we have another frame-style bag, with a lot of embellishments, which could be a little on the fussy side, depending on your taste. I’m sure you’ll guess the designer of this one pretty quickly, but do you like it? Tell me, Yay or Nay, and Why?

Well, one thing’s for sure with this week’s Yay or Nay bag - you’ll never run out of places to keep things in it, will you? There are at least five different compartments on the front alone, so you certainly won’t be short of a pocket if you need one. Are there too many, though? Do you wish the designer had just picked a style and stuck with it (either classic frame bag or multi-pocketed city shopper), or does the slightly schizophrenic styling just add to its charm?

I’m pleased to say that only did you confirm my gut reaction that last week’s Yay or Nay bag was one of the ugliest bags ever created, giving it a unanimous “Nay!” vote, you also confirmed my suspicions that it looked, to quote Camilla, “like three pairs of droopy boobs!” Shame on you Bulga: and to think you expect us to pay $795 for such a thing!

This week’s bag has the advantage of not looking like someone’s naked bits, but does it look like something you’d be proud to carry? Tell me, Yay or Nay, and why?

Oh dear, oh dear…You weren’t all impressed with last week’s embroidered shoulderbag, were you? Only two ‘yays’ amongst a sea of ‘nays’ - although kudos to Gee for working out the identity of the designer. Back to Bag School with you, Anna Sui, we don’t want your leather frame bag here (especially not for £520!).

On, then, to this week’s bag. Yes, it’s what I’d normally call a ‘bum bag’ and what designers these days like to call a ‘purse belt’. This would normally mean an automatic ‘Nay’, but is this one really so bad? Tell me, Yay or Nay, and why?
